Benjamin H. Bailey was born in Bennington, New Hampshire, June 27,1829, and departed this life Nov 9, 1903, aged 74 years, 4 months, and 13 days. Mr. Bailey was married to Mary Jane Crowley at Lawrance, Mass., May 3rd, 1854. They came to Wankon, Iowa, in August, 1855, living there until 1871, when they moved to a farm in Allamakee Co. Since the death of his wife in March, 1894, he has made his home with his elder daughter, Mrs. Rilla B. Letchford of Frankville. Another daughter, Mrs. Callie B. Letchford of Estherville and a son, Jerome B. Bailey of Naper. Neb., live to morn the loss of a kind father. Mr. Bailey was of a kindly, jovial disposition and he will be greatly missed among old neighbors and friends. The funeral services conducted by Rev. Neve were held Wednesday forenoon, Nov. 11th, at the M. E. church, with burial in the Frankville cemetery by the side of his wife.
