Died from Mysterious Affliction.
After an illness of but a few days Frank Sunnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Sunnes, died last Friday morning at a hospital in Chicago where he had been taken for an operation. About a week previous he experienced a difficulty in swallowing. His food would go down only part way and there lodge, seeming obstructed in some manner. The ailment baffled local physicians and Mr. and Mrs. Sunnes decided to take him to Chicago to consult specialists. There he was subjected to a careful examination by three different physicians—one for the brain, another for heart and lungs, and the third for the throat, and they were unable to determine what the difficulty was or what to do to relieve the sufferer. Dr. George Webster, son of the late Wm. Webster of Kendallville, was one of the examining physicians. For three days Frank was doing nicely, but at an early hour Friday morning he lapsed into uncon{s}ciousness and death came to him while he was in that condition. We are informed that the physicians said they could find nothing like it in medical records. A local theory is that it was of a paralytic nature due to straining the throat while yelling at a ball game. The remains were brought home Saturday, and the funeral was held Sunday afternoon, at the house, Rev. J. O. Hougen officiating, and burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery
Deceased was an employee in the office of the Decorah Post{?}, a young man for whom a large circle of acquaintances cherished a hearty esteem. In their bereavement the family have the sympathy of the community.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Lutheran Decorah Cemetery and was born January 16, 1886 and died August 28, 1903.
