William “Bill” Smith, age 54 of Decorah, IA, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019, due to the results of an automobile accident outside of Decorah.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street in Decorah with Rev. Ginny Olson presiding. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00pm on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah and also after 10:00am on Friday morning at the church.

Bill is survived by his wife Kris. Daughter: Courtney. Mother: Dorothy Smith, Cresco, IA. Sisters: Karen (Craig) Wedderspoon, Waukon, IA and Deb Priest, Cresco, IA. Brothers: Fred Smith, Cresco, IA; Robert Smith, Cresco, IA and Rick Smith, Cresco, IA. Father and mother-in-law: Dale and Geraldine Thompson, Harmony, MN. Sister-in-law: Jackie Garnatz, Spring Valley, MN. Brothers-in-law: Dale Jr. (Kathy) Thompson, Chattfield, MN; Steve (Kim) Thompson, Harmony, MN; Brian (Deana) Thompson, Park City, MT; Donnie (Lisa) Thompson, Chattfield, MN along with many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his father: Stanley Smith.
