OBITUARY.
Emma Jane Ayres was born at McHenry, Ill., in 1851, and died at her home in Cresco, Iowa, March 11, 1909. She came with her parents to Fillmore County in 1853, where she grew to womanhood. She was married with Wm. Benson, Dec. 12, 1871. Seven children were born to this union: Arthur, Walter, Dollie, Bernard, Howard, Olive and Earl, two of the children, Arthur and Olive, dying in infancy. Besides her husband, children and grandchildren, one sister and two brothers and a host of friends survive to mourn her loss. She was a good mother, devoting her time to the welfare of her children. She was a member of the M. E. church.
The funeral services were held in the M. E. church, Saturday forenoon, Feb. 13th, conducted by Rev. John Gammons. Interment was in the State Line Cemetery near Harmony, Minnesota.
