On Wednesday morning, Oct. 12, 1904, Mrs. S. Pike peacefully passed away. She had been ailing most of the time for the past year, but for the last eight weeks had been confined to her bed. Elizabeth (commonly called Betsey) B. Way was born at LaColIe, Canada, July 1829. Shortly after her birth her parents removed to A1burgh, Grand Isle county, Vt., where her girlhood days were spent. She was married to Stephen Pike April 8, 1860, at Ellensburg, Clinton county, N. Y. Two sons were born to them, Dave, who with his family were present and helped care for the mother during the last illness, Delbert, who died when only 6 years old. She was converted to Christ in early girlhood and has ever since lived an earnest Christian life, trying in all things to do the Master’s bidding. She cared but little for display and it was her expressed desire that everything should be quiet and unostatious{sic} for her funeral. There being no church of her choice in Ridgeway she and her husband have kept their membership in the Christion{sic} Advent church at Burr Oak. She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband, son and family, one sister, Mrs. Joanna Smith, and three brothers. Mrs. Pike was beloved by all who knew her and it is indeed a deep sympathy that her many friends extend to all the mourning ones. At the time of her death she was 75 years, 2 months and 26 days old. The funeral services were conducted by Elder Ridley of Monticello, Minn., her old pastor, on Friday last, Oct. 14th. May her soul sleep in peace until the glad resurrection morn.
