The Silent Reaper.
After a brief illness, following an operation for a tumor, Mrs. Edward Rudolph died on Saturday morning last, aged forty-three years, four months and twenty-eight days. Mrs. Rudolph's maiden name was Amelia Peterson and she was born April 14th, 1861 in Sweden. When three years old, her parents came to America and settled near Calmar, later moving into Calmar where the family home has since been. When twelve years of age Mrs. Rudolph came to Decorah to live and since that time she has resided here almost continuously On October 5th. 1887, she was united in marriage to Edward Rudolph. To them one son was born who, with the husband, mother, two sisters and three brothers, survive her. Mrs. Rudolph was a sincere Christian woman and a devoted wife and mother. While the illness which immediately preceded her death was of short duration, and was partially the collapse following the operation, she had not been in good health for a year past and for a number of weeks she had suffered exceedingly. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the residence and the remains were interred in the Phelps cemetery. The large attendance of friends and neighbors bespoke the sympathy that is felt for the family of the deceased,
