REV. FATHER GARRAHAN
Died Suddenly at Lawler, at Seven O’clock last Monday Evening.
A few weeks ago it was gravely feared that Rev. Fr. Garrahan, so long the esteemed and beloved priest of the Decorah and Bluffton parishes, would not recover from the grave illness which has attacked him, but a turn for the better was so marked that fears abated and ultimate recovery was confidently expected. When news came Tuesday that a sudden return of his heart difficulty had resulted fatally it was in the nature of a severe shock to all who knew him. We have no details save this from the New Hampton Tribune of Tuesday:—
While Father Garrahan’s condition was not such as to warrant the friends in the feeling that his recovery from his illness of several weeks would be complete, the news of his death came as a shock for which they were not prepared. He had ventured out the day before and was up and around when stricken with the heart attack that caused death.
Funeral services were to be held at 3 o’clock to-day, and the body taken to Detroit for burial.
