OBITUARY.
John Emanuel Glimps, son of N. C. and Christiana Glimps of Houston Co., Minn., was born in Hesper township, Winneshiek Co., Iowa. He was born July 10th, 1887.
Deceased began to complain of sickness in November, 1902, and physicians at Rushford were consulted without any relief. In May, 1903, he went to the hospital at La Crosse for treatment and was there for about four weeks. Returning home. He remained for about a month and then returned to the hospital again.
This time he was there for seven weeks, but he received no benefit. Gradually he grew worse and worse until Fob. 22, 1904, he took to his bed from which he never arose, suffering from tuberculosis of the backbone, and also of the lungs, from which he died, June 25, 1904, aged 16 years, 11 months, 15 days.
All through his long sickness he was very patient, though he was in great pain. He accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior and rejoiced in hearing of Him out of His word. He leaves a father, mother, one sister and one brother to mourn his loss. ^ .
Words of comfort were spoken from Amos 4: 12; “Prepare to meet thy God,” by Rev. Stanley of Rushford. There was a large gathering at the funeral, showing the esteem for the young man in that neighborhood. He was interred in the Rushford cemetery.
Mrs. Neiberline of Decorah, Chas. Keune and wife, Mrs. H. Turner and son, Ben and Amanda Keune of Hesper, J. C. Fredcnburgh and wife of Burr Oak, attended the 'funeral.
