Yesterday, Mav 1st, Mrs. Stewart, one of our very old ladies, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dave Rice. Funeral Tuesday afternoon. This death will make fourteen burials in our cemetery since Nov. 4th, in which Rev, Dorcas officiated as pastor. In November Elijah Briggs, aged 68 years; D. A. Norton died in Burr Oak but was taken to Cresco for interment. In December Jane Willsie, aged 93 years. In January Charles Willsie, aged 60 years, and George A. Peacock, aged 62. In February Rose Hillman, aged 68. March, Geo. K. Morrison, aged 40, Wm Kimber, aged 88, Dwight Manning, aged 60. Reg. Wicks, aged 23. April, Henry Palmer, aged 78, 8. S. Wade, aged 80, Wm. K. Ervin, aged 60, John Heckle, aged nearly 92. May 1st. Mrs, Stewart, aged nearly 93. It will be seen that eleven out of the 14 had reached 60 years and from that to 93.

The death, of Mrs. Stewart was announced last week; will further any Eliza Cabine Stewart was born in Ireland, June 11, 1811; emigrated to America in 1838, lived in New York state until 1868, when with her husband and only child came to Burr Oak, Iowa, While in New York she was a member of the United Presbyterian church. Since coming to Burr Oak there being none of that denomination here, she never united with any other, but remained faithful to her vows with the church of her choice. Her husband, Wm. A. Stewart, died March 20, 1877, and for the past 21 years she has had her home with her daughter, Mrs. David Rice, where she died May 1, 1904, aged nearly 93 years.
Transcriber's Note: In the Burr Oak Cemetery records, there is a William A. Stuart and a Mother Stuart with the year of birth as 1811, so I feel that the name is misspelled in the obituary.
