Sudden Death.
Harry Chase who made his home with his sister, Mrs. A. Hoskins, in West Decorah, was found dead in bed last Sunday morning when his brother-in-law went to call him for breakfast. While Mr. Chase had failed in health for several weeks his condition Saturday night was no different from what it had been for some time. He was able to be up and around and enjoyed his meals with apparently as much relish as usual. The fact that both his father and mother and several members of his mother’s family died suddenly and unexpectedly indicates that his illness, of whatever nature it might be, was inherited. Mr. Chase was born Jan. 22, 1849, in Philadelphia. He came with his parents in 1855 to Madison, Wis., and after the death of his mother in 1881 came to live with his sister in Decorah. At the time of his death he was in his fifty-fifth year. When a lad of about seven years he suffered an attack of brain fever, since which time he has never been of sound mental health. The remains were taken to Madison, Wis., for burial Monday night by his niece, Mrs. W J. Hanswirth. Besides Mrs. Hoskins he has a brother and sister residing at Madison and a brother and sister residing at Milwaukee.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison and died March 6, 1904.
