PROF. H. T, YTTERBOE DEAD.
Was Born in Springfield Township—Became Treasurer of St. Olaf College, Northfield.
News came from Northfield. Minn., last Friday of the death of Prof. H. T. Ytterboe, from myasthenia gravis. Prof. Ytterboe was born Nov 25, 1857 in Springfield township of this county and was educated at Luther College, where he graduated after six years in 1881. Up to that time there had been but one larger class at the College, and among his classmates were Rev. K. Seehuus, pastor of the Lutheran church at Locust, Attorney Oscar M. Torrison of Chicago, Dr. F. V Mobil of Minot, N. D., Editor Hans Kopperdul of Fargo, Profs. Conrad Christianson of Sioux Falls, Hans S. Hilleboe of Benson, Minn., and Carl Kasberg of Grand Forks. After graduation here, Prof. Ytterboe spent a short time at Iowa City and then went to Northfield in the fall of 1881 where he became a professor at St. Olaf, the United Lutheran College. To the institution he has given over twenty years of faithful and valuable work, part of the time as instructor and part of the time as field agent. Latterly he has been secretary and treasurer. His illness has been of five months’ duration. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son. Many old friends in Decorah and vicinity will learn with regret of his death, as he was a man who was in every way worthy of the large measure of esteem and consideration which he received wherever ho was known.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in Northfield, MN. It shows he died April 8, 1904; however this paper was dated March 3, 1904.
