Mr. Clark H. Davis of Ansonia, Conn., sends us a local newspaper in which is marked an item telling of the sudden death of Mrs. Oliver Powe, a daughter of William French, a live-long resident of that city. There is a local relationship in this item that we are unable to connect unless it be that the father was William M. French, long a resident of Freeport. Mr. Powe, if we mistake not, is connected with the Deites, having annual reunions; and of which David C. Bacon is probably the best remembered member. P. S.—Mr. P., we since learn, was a carpenter and for a time worked here with David H. Ball.

Transcriber’s Note: Find-a-Grave shows this was Mary A. and that she is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia, Connecticut
