Influenza Claimed the Life of Mrs. John F. Rosenbaum
Mother of Five Children Succumbs After Short Illness of Five Days
The body of Mrs. John F. Rosenbaum of Bloomfield township will be laid to rest Thursday.
Funeral services will be held here in St. Fra3ncis church at 10 o’clock, with burial at St. Francis cemetery. The Very Rev. M. J. Thiltgen D. D. will officiate at the Requiem Mass and conduct the services at the grave. The pallbearers selected are Henry Mundt, Edw. Timp, Herman Holthaus, Ray Runkle, John Broghamer and Clem Einck.
Mrs. John Rosenbaum died in her home in Bloomfield township Monday, February 8, 1937 after an illness of six days resulting from influenza and complications.
Louisa Bucheit was born February 10, 1900 in Festina, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Bucheit. Her education was received in the Festina schools. She grew to womanhood under the parental roof where she was taught and mastered the art of housekeeping.
At Festina, on May 2, 1922, she was united in marriage to Mr. John F. Rosenbaum and they made their home in Festina until 1931 when they moved to a farm in Bloomfield township, 3 miles northeast of Ossian. Here they made their home until her death.
Five children were born to this union, namely, Herold, Gertrude, Helen, Frances, and Ione.
Besides her five children she is survived by her husband, father and three sisters: Lena Bucheit, Carroll, Ia.; Nellie, Mrs. Andrew Rausch, Fairbanks, Ia.; Hildegard, Mrs. Hugo Rosenbaum, Lawler; two brothers Alfred of Festina and George of Calmar. Her mother preceded her in death in 1929.
Relatives from a distance who are expected here for the funeral are: Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Rosenbaum and family, Gay Mills, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Young, Petersburg, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Rausch and family, Fairbanks, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Rosenbaum, Lawler; Phillip Bucheit and Mr. and Mrs. George Bucheit of Calmar; Alf. Bucheit and family and Andrew Bucheit and daughter, Katie of Festina, and numerous other relatives.
