AUGUST 12.
“The home of our estimable clergyman, Rev. B. Holcomb, who has a son, an officer of the 16th Iowa Infantry, numbered now among the dead, is in mourning.
A funeral sermon for Lieut. G. H. Holcomb, son of Rev. B. Holcomb, will be preached at Clark’s Hall, Sunday morning, Aug. 14, at 10 o’clock.”

Transcriber's Note: His gravestone in Phelps Cemetery indicates he was born February 7, 1839 and died July 21, 1864
