Obituary.
Mrs. Jossendal (nee Annie Johnson) was born July 29, 1874, near Ridgeway, Iowa October 10, 1900, she was united in marriage with Mr. J. Jossendal, of Cresco, Iowa. February 17th, 1902, a son was born to them, and on March 3rd, 1902, the devoted wife and mother was called upon to leave her dear ones and enter the abode where parting is no more. Mrs. Jossendal has been ailing for a number of years but it was not until about two weeks ago that anything serious was apprehended. But she was willing to answer the Master’s call, and it is the comfort of the surviving husband and brothers and sisters that she was well prepared. The funeral services were held at the house Thursday forenoon conducted by Rev. Otterson. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery near Ridgeway, where the funeral services will be conducted by Rev. N. P. Xavier, of Lincoln church.Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone shows the spelling of her last name as Josendahl. The gravestone also shows she was born in 1875

We are sorry to record the death of Mrs. John Josendahl of Cresco. Mrs. Josendahl is better known as Annie Johnson, She was born July 22, 1875, and died March 3, 1902. She is a daughter of Sundry Johnson, one of our few old soldiers. She grew to womanhood in our community and almost a year and a half ago was married to John Josendahl and moved with him to Cresco. She leaves a husband and baby to mourn her loss, a father, five sisters, Mrs. John Aga, Mrs. Jack Aga, Mrs. Iver Benson, Mrs. Ole Sanderson and Tilly and two brothers, John and Hans are also left to mourn for her. The funeral was held at the Lincoln church Thursday, March 6, Rev. Xavier officiating. Thus another young life is cut off and we are left to wonder why? But God in his infinite wisdom has called, and we must answer “Thy will be done.”
