Fatal Accident
Last Tuesday afternoon, while engaged with a team in hauling water for some hogs, Henry Reil, working on the farm of John Ludwig in Minnesota, near Granger, in some way—as he was alone, the exact manner is not known—was supposedly instantly killed. He was using a wagon with a plank platform and it is surmised that he in some way fell through them and frightened the team which ran away entangling and killing him in the wheels, as when he was found he was fastened in the wheel by his clothing being wrapped about it. The deceased was a son of the old gentleman still living in Orleans twp. on the Howard farm, and would have been 28 years of age the 17th of the present month. The funeral occured{sic} yesterday at 11 o’clock from the M. E. church at Granger, the interment being at that place in Oak Hill cemetery. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. Emory Yarrington of this city.Source: Twice-A-Week Plain Dealer June 19, 1900, LP, C6
