Boy Drowned-
Sunday, May 27, a lot of boys were in bathing near Kendallville, when Edgar Hunter got in beyond his depth and being unable to swim and was drowned. His half brother, Howard Jeffers and Hans Peterson tried to save him, neither of whom could swim, and they came near drowning. His body was recovered after having been in the water nearly an hour. Mark Daniels, our informant, helping in its recovery, and who with Kelsey Clark took the remains to his home, his brother having preceded them with the sorowful{sic} news. The deceased was about 14 years of age. The funeral was Tuesday morning, the interment being in the Kendallville cemetery.Transcriber’s Note: Find-a-Grave indicates he was born October 8, 1885.
