Sharon Busch, age 63, of Festina, IA, died on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Gundersen Health Systems in LaCrosse, WI.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, 2351 County Road B32, Festina, IA, with Rev. Robert Gross presiding. Burial will be in Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Festina Parish Center in Festina, IA and also after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. There will be a rosary at 2:30 p.m., before the visitation on Wednesday.

Sharon Jeanne (Shorey) Busch was born on March 6, 1955 in Algona, IA. She graduated from Luverne High School in Luverne, IA. After high school Sharon spent two years at NIACC in Mason City and then attended Iowa State University where she graduated with a bachelor degree in home economics education. While at Iowa State she met Bob Busch and they were later married on June 25, 1977 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Festina, IA. Together they had three children: Scott, Michelle and Travis. Sharon and Bob farmed and raised their children near Festina on Bob’s family farm as 3rd generation farmers. Sharon also worked many different jobs throughout the years but her favorite was writing a column for the Calmar Courier for twelve years called “Neighbor to Neighbor”. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and most of all spending time with her family.

Sharon is survived by her husband: Bob. Children: Scott Busch, Cedar Falls, IA; Michelle (Jason) Landa, Charlotte, IA and Travis Busch, Ankeny, IA. Grandchildren: Gabriel, Adelaide and Reagan Landa. Brothers: LeRoy (Susan) Witzel, Humboldt, IA and Gaylen (Barb) Witzel, Cedar Falls, IA. Sister: Zelda (Marlyn) Larson, Ankeny, IA. Mother-in-law: Adalene Busch. Sisters-in-law: Donna (Dennis) Anderson, Hager City, WI and Sheila (Wayne) Baird, Denver, IA. Brothers-in-law: Jerry (Judy) Busch, Ossian, IA and Loren (Colleen) Busch, Burr Oak, IA along with many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents: Francis and Mabel (Lacour) Shorey. Father-in-law: Hubert Busch. Niece: Angela Pilkington. Nephew: Ben Baird.
