Kathryn (Kay) Ruth Swift of Rolla, Mo., passed away Feb. 22, 2018, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. A memorial Celebration of Life was held in Rolla, Mo. Saturday, Feb. 24. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alpha 1 Foundation, 3300 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables, FL 33134.
Kay was born on April 3, 1947, in Decorah, to Alanson and Adeline Lillibridge, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to James Swift Feb. 2, 2002, in Rolla, Mo.

In 1999 Kay was given the position of coordinator for disease management at Alpha Net to help people who were diagnosed with Alpha One, the disease that ultimately took her life. Kay loved to help other people, was very giving of her time, and always put other people’s needs above her own.

She loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Kay’s hobbies were target shooting, reading, playing board and card games, and spending time with family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and enjoyed these entertaining activities.

In addition to her husband James, survivors include four children: Shane Kinsel (and his wife Kelly) of Laramie, Wyo., Shannon Payne (and her husband Randy) of Hayden, Colo., Stephanie Kinsel of Bernilillo, N.M. and Sherry Kinsel of Steamboat Springs, Colo. In addition, Kay is survived by three step-children; Chad Swift (and his wife Amanda) of Ft. Collins, Colo., Melissa Swift Gallier (and her husband Joel) of Timnath, Colo. and Nicole Swift of Ft. Collins, Colo.; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; three siblings: Mary Welker of Bay Town, Texas, Jean Grebin (and husband John) of Spillville and James Lillibridge (and wife Renee) of Decorah.
