Patricia Jane Albertson, 73, of Rochester, Minn., passed away Jan 11, 2018, at the intensive care unit of North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minn. At her request, there will be no formal funeral. Instead, she wanted a party. Friends and family will gather at Calmar Lutheran Church Saturday, Jan. 27, from 1 to 5 p.m., to talk and share memories of Jane. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a gift in Jane’s name to the charity of your choice. Jane will be interred at the Calmar Lutheran Church cemetery.
Patricia (known as Jane to her friends and family) was born Oct. 26, 1944, in Des Moines, to Aubrey and Frances (Clark) Osborn. She graduated from Saydel High School in Des Moines. Jane was married to Parnell Albertson Nov. 24, 1973, at Calmar Lutheran Church in Calmar. She and Parnell lived in Spillville until the time of Parnell's death in 1992. Jane continued to live in Spillville until her retirement from Rockwell Collins in 2008, at which point she moved to Rochester, Minn. to be closer to her sons
Jane had a keen sense of humor, and loved talking with friends and family. She was a strong woman, pulling her family through her husband's long illness and death in 1992, while her oldest was still in high school, and later taking care of her mother with Alzheimer's disease. Through it all she maintained her sense of humor and her strong determination. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed sewing. Later in life she adopted the hobby of coloring, even coordinating a coloring club at her apartment complex.
She is survived by her sons, Aaron Albertson of Rochester, Minn. and Brent (Donna) Albertson of Rochester, Minn.; and her cat, Lily, which has been adopted by her sons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Parnell, and her parents, Aubrey and Frances (Clark) Osborn.
