John Daly who resided on the Iowa in Fremont, died on Wednesday aged somewhere about 75 years. Mr. Daly was one of the early settlers on the Iowa, an honest and upright man.
Transcriber’s Note: This is probably the John Daly who is buried in St. Kierans – the date of death is right but the age is not. The gravestone shows he was 68 years old.

The people in this vicinity were shocked to hear that Mr. John Daley was found in his garden dead last week and as he was an early settler his being called so suddenly has cast a gloom over the community in which he was so well known and respected.
Transcriber's Note: The last name is spelled two different ways.

Heart Failure.
Harmony, Minn., April 21.—John Daley, an old and highly respected farmer living about six miles south of this city, was found dead in the garden near his residence about noon Wednesday. His son, who was at work in the field, not seeing his father around when he came home for dinner went to the garden where the old gentleman was supposed to be at work, and was horrified to find his father’s lifeless body on the ground. The cause of his death was supposed to be heart failure. He was about 60 years of age and had always enjoyed fairly good health.
