Lincoln Township Pioneer Passed Away Sunday Night
Knute Erickson, Lincoln township pioneer who reached his 90th birthday on July 23, passed away at the home of his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Espeseth, in Lincoln township Sunday evening, Jan. 31.He was born in Norway in 1841. His beloved wife passed away some years ago and he had made his home with his daughter since. He was a man who always enjoyed good health, being seldom ill. He was industrious and kept at his work regularly. Last summer he assisted in the harvest fields. He was a man of high integrity and worth and during his long life here was one of our highly respected and well liked citizens.
When he came to this country, he located first in Nebraska where he lived a few years, the balance of his lfe being spent in Winneshiek county. The bereaved daughter has the sympathy of many friends in her loss.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock from the home. Rev. Williams of the Four Square Gospel of Decorah officated.
