Death of Mrs. Mary Burns - Jackson Junction
Mrs. Mary Burns of Jackson Junction passed away January 27th, in the University hospital in Iowa City following an operation, which she had January 20th. She had been in ill health for the past six months.Funeral services were held in St. Mary's church, Waucoma, Saturday morning at nine o'clock. Rev. J. Sheehy read the requiem mass and also said the prayers at the grave. Burial was made in St. Rose cemetery by the side of her husband Thomas Burns, who preceded her in death many years ago.
The deceased is survived by three sons and two daughters, T.H. Burns, Postville; Morgan, Jamestown, N.D.; Clem, at home; Sister Mary Elaine, Chicago, Ill. and Elizabeth, Mrs. A.F. Lawrence, Cresco. Another daughter, Alice, Mrs. E.E. Malloy preceded her in death a few years ago. She is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. W.J. Sullivan, Dubuque; Mrs. J.E. McEnaney, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. James Hughes, Superior, Wis. and Mrs. Grant Williams, Fargo, N.D., and by ten grandchildren.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral are Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Burns and son of Postville; Mr. and Mrs. AF. Lawrence and family, Cresco; Sister Mary Elaine and sister Mary Celerina of Chicago; Morgan Burns, Jamestown, N.D.; Mrs. W.J. Sullivan, Dubuque; Mrs. J.E. McEnaney, Austin, Minn.; Dr. J.P. Malloy and sister Eileen of Castalia.
Pallbearers were J.H. Meyer, G.R. Taylor, George Lensing, Albert Tomasek, Mike Dunn and Chas. Lynch.
