Herman Henry Landmeier, whose death was noted in these columns last week, was born Dec. 18, 1817, in Schale, Westfalen, Germany, and died June (?) 1912 at the home of his son in Canoe township. He came to America in 1870 and for two years lived on a farm near Chicago, after which he moved to Winneshiek county, and has since made his home here. He was married in 1837 to Adelaide Tebenhof, to which union were born two sons and three daughters, one daughter passing away a number of years ago. His two sons, George and Henry, live in Canoe township. The funeral services were held from the Canoe German Methodist church, of which he has been a member for forty years, Rev. A.F. Damerow officiating.
