Obituary.
On the night of March 4th, the home of Joseph Whalen, at Canton, Minn., became sad and desolate by the sudden death of his faithful wife, Jennie.
Jennie Doherty-Whalen was born Oct. 4, 1860, and grew to womanhood at the home of her parents in Paris twp., this county. She was united in marriage with Joseph Whalen, Nov. 11, 1878.

The funeral service took place at St. Agnes Catholic church, at Plymouth Rock, being conducted by Rev. Father Cooney, who delivered an eloquent funeral sermon after the service. She was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. The funeral was largely attended, a large concourse of people—over one hundred teams— following the remains to their resting place.
She leaves a husband four daughters and six sons to mourn her loss. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction.

CARD OF THANKS.
We all join in giving our heartfelt thanks to friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us after the death of our beloved wife and mother.
J. WHALEN AND FAMILY.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone indicates she was born August 22, 1860; however, that varies from the obituary. Also her gravestone shows her first name as Jane. Her maiden name is spelled two different ways.
