Death of Willis Wheelock.
Mr. Willis Wheelock, the well-known painter and writing teacher, died on Tuesday evening, after an illness of upwards of ten weeks. He was taken ill with the grip about the middle of February. This ran into pneumonia, was followed by typhoid, and finally pleurisy added a fatal complication. Mr. Wheelock was born in Conway, Mass., in 1828, and was nearly 69 years old. He came to Iowa in 1860; has been a resident of Decorah for upwards of thirty years; was widely known as a man of religious temperament who endeavored to live a correct life, at peace with his fellow men, and his God.—Decorah Republican.
