A Horrible Death-
A shocking accident is reported happening two miles north of Frankville last Friday evening. A setting of threshing had just been completed by a threshing outfit, and Julius Lingos, one of the men employed, stood up on the feed-board sweeping the litterings down into the machine, when suddenly he slipped and stepped backward with one foot into the swiftly revolving cylender.{?} His companions were so horrified that they could not move or speak for some seconds. Finally the engineer regained presence of mind enough to reverse and stop his engine. The unfortunate man had one leg drawn into the machine clear to thigh, the cylender{?} litterly{sic} eating the leg off. It was found the man could not be removed from the machine until the cylinder was unfastened and taken from its place. The poor fellow lived but an hour after being taken out.— Decorah Journal.
