Hedwig Kach, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Eastern Star Home in Decorah, Iowa, at the age of 95.

Hedwig Rose (Gerber) Kach, the daughter of Gottfried F. and Rosa (Brugger) Gerber, was born August 25, 1914 in Winneshiek County, IA. She attended rural schools through the eighth grade. She married Milton Alfred Kach on September 4, 1935. To this union four children were born: Shirley, Gloria, Gerald, and Carol. In the fall of 1968, Milton and Hedwig retired from farming and moved to Cresco, where Hedwig worked part-time at the Cresco Bakery.

She is survived by her children; Shirley (Jerome) Erdahl of Cresco, IA, Gloria Hove of Decorah, IA, Gerald (Ann) Kach of Cresco, IA, and Carol (John) Hove of Ridgeway, IA; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton; her two sisters, Anna Leitz, and Freida Huhe; her two brothers, Samuel Gerber, and Fred Gerber; a son-in-law, Paul L. Hove; and a grandson, Kirk John Hove.

Cemetery:
Burial will be in New Oregon Cemetery in rural Cresco, IA

Visitation:
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, from 4-6 p.m., and also one hour prior to services at the church.

Service:
Funeral services will be on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, IA.
