Helen Anderson, age 91, of Harmony, MN died at the Harmony Healthcare in Harmony, MN on June 11, 2009 following a short illness.

Helen Rose Anderson was born December 18, 1917 on the family farm at Calmar. Iowa to Frank and Jenny (Valenta) Hauber. She was one of five girls born to this union. Helen was united in marriage to Orville Anderson. Two sons and one daughter were born to this union. Helen lived on a farm south of Harmony for many years. She moved to Granger, MN, where Helen and Orville owned and operated the Granger Inn. Helen moved to Harmony after the death of her husband, Orville. Helen worked for Heco in Harmony for many years. She was a member of the Senior Card Club, she enjoyed crocheting doilies, canning, gardening, and making pies, and spending time with her grandchildren. The family will miss her pickles, pies, doilies, and her love. Helen was blessed by the love and caring of her family, the Notre Dame Church, and the Harmony Manor where she lived.

Survivors include her daughter, Rose Marie and her husband Harold Berge of Harmony, MN and a son, Allen and his wife Julie Ann Anderson of Austin, MN, seven grandchildren: Randy Berge of Rochester, MN, Cindy Berge of Harmony, MN, Dennis Berge and his wife Peggy of Dodge Center, MN, Kevin Anderson of Granger, MN, Troy Anderson of Albert Lea, MN, Tracy Anderson of Austin, MN and Travis Anderson of Austin, MN, and three sisters: Florence Zahasky of Protivin, IA, Madeline Ryan of Cresco, IA and Eileen Sbiral of Fort Atkinson, IA.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Robert, and one sister Beatrice.

Cemetery:
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco.

Visitation:
Friends may call one hour before services at the church.

Service:
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Parish Church in Cresco, IA with Father Ament officiating.
