Charles “Chuck” Peter Holthaus, 58, passed away Friday, May 13, at the Beaver Creek Manor Home in Dayton, Ohio.

A memorial service is at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 23, at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Decorah. Please join us following the service to celebrate Chuck’s life. It will be held in the downstairs of St. Benedicts Catholic Church along with a luncheon. We all miss him so much and look forward to coming together to share stories and memories of our Chuck.

Chuck was a gentle soul who loved his family and his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. His friends meant the world to him and to be acknowledged as “Elk of the year” in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio, just confirms our Chuck was a wonderful, loving and all around special man. May you rest in peace and enjoy Heaven, Chuck ... the Treasury of Everlasting life.

Chuck is survived by six brothers, four sisters, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nilus P. Holthaus and Irene B. Holthaus. He was also preceded in death by his sister Judy Davis (Holthaus) and nephew Jason Holthaus.
