Belle R. Giesing, In Hospital for 16 Months, Dies

Miss Belle R. Giesing, 69, passed away Thursday, March 12 at the Decorah Hospital following a lingering illness. She had been a patient at the hospital since Nov. 18, 1940.

Her remains were brought to Calmar to the French Funeral Home and the funeral services were held Monday morning at the St. Aloysius Catholic church with burial in the family lot in the St. Aloysius cemetery. Rev. Joseph Vollmecke officiated at the requiem high mass and also at the grave. The pall bearers were Edw. Hosting, Felix Timp, Jos. Bullerman, Jacob Becvar, John Havel and John Bruening.

Miss Giesing was born in Calmar June 20, 1872, the only daughter of the late Joseph A. and Rose C. Giesing. She was educated in the Calmar schools and for several years taught in the Calmar township schools.

She is survived by two brothers, Fred and William A. Giesing. Her parents and one brother, Henry preceded her in death.
