Dominic Buchheit Passed Away Fri.

After an illness of two weeks Dominic Buchheit passed away December 8 at St. Francis hospital, La Crosse.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 12, from St. Mary’s church in Festina with internment in the adjoining cemetery. His nephew, the Rev. Urban Buchheit, of Jasper, Minn., officiated.

H. J. Schupanitz, Wm. Schneberger, Wm. Massman, Wm. Schuler, J. P. Etteldorf, Jerome and John Lensing were cross-bearers.

Dominic Buchheit was born Sept. 9, 1881, in Festina, Ia. He was the son of the late Nicholous and Juliaana (Duclos) Buchheit. Receiving his education in the Festina Parochial School, he was married to Mary Hageman Feb. 6, 1906, at Festina.

They had one daughter who died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Buchheit lived on a farm outside of Festina until 1937 when they moved to Festina.

Besides his widow, he is mourned by four brothers and two sisters: Philip of Calmar; Anton, Casper, and Joseph of Festina; Mrs. John (Mary) Hageman of Ossian; and Sister (Anna) Mechteld of La Crosse. One brother John, preceded him in death.

NOTE: His gravestone shows the spelling of his first name as Dominick.
