Rites Tomorrow for Jacob Becvar:
Funeral services for Jacob J. Becvar, 55, will be held tomorrow (Friday), at 10 a. m., at the St. Benedict’s Catholic church in Decorah. Father M. E. Nolan will conduct the rites, and burial will be in Calmar. Pallbearers will be B. A. Jerman, L. H. Seim, Frank Goltz, Charles Uher, Ralph Weselmann, and Jake Hycheck.
Jacob Becvar, Decorah meatdealer, died suddenly from a heart attack Monday night at the Elks Home.
He was born July 26, 1889, in Czechoslovakia, the son of Vaclav and Teresa Becvar. In 1905 he came to
this country where he married the late Mary Loretta Peeper, June 16, 1915, at Dorchester, Iowa.They were the parents of two sons, Francis Becvar, S 3/c, with the navy in the Pacific, Raphael Becvar, Fort Atkinson and two daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Mary) Barloon, Fort Atkinson, and Mrs. Ray (Lois) Turner, Decorah.
Besides his children he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Frances Rosicky, Mrs. Louis Peroutka, Barbara Franek, Frank Becvar, all of Chicago; Mrs. Vine Vesclak, Indiana; Jim Becvar and Mrs. Agnes Altman of Czechoslovakia.
Mr. Becvar was the owner and operator of the Becvar Meat Market in Decorah and had lived here three years. He previously had resided in Chicago and Calmar.
