Gaylen Roderick Bolson, 74, of Decorah, died Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis. At Gaylen’s request, there will be no memorial service.
He was born Oct. 20, 1941, the son of Clifford and Emma (Vick) Bolson. He was united in marriage Nov. 12, 1960, to Elaine Noecker. Gaylen lived in the Decorah area his entire life and loved its natural beauty.
Gaylen was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1974, and was a very faithful Brother and loving Congregation Elder. He loved his God, Jehovah. He had a strong faith in the Bible and enjoyed talking with others about his Bible-based hope. He had a sure hope of the resurrection (John 11:25).
Gaylen held various jobs in his life, including 12 years at Deco Products. He owned his own business since 1974. He had a reputation as both hardworking and honest.
Gaylen deeply loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He enjoyed creation and spent many hours outdoors both at home and while traveling.
Gaylen is survived by his wife, Elaine Bolson; son, Wade (Julie) Bolson; daughter Ann Bolson; and grandchildren Emily Bolson and Jonathan Bolson; sister Beverlyne (Tyrome) Albertson; sister-in-law Ila Bolson; and many nieces and nephews.
Gaylen was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Emma (Vick) Bolson; sister Darlyne Stoen; and brother Donald Bolson.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis.
