Alice Louise Wiltgen Bockman, age 94, of Decorah, IA, died on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah, IA.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. David Sorenson presiding. Burial will be held at a later date.

Friends may call after 9:00 a.m., at the church on Wednesday morning. The Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is in charge of arrangements.

In Lieu of flowers the family would like memorials sent to the Alice Bockman Memorial Fund in care of the Schluter - Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA 52101.

Alice Louise Wiltgen Erickson Bockman was born on June 23, 1921, in Rochester, MN, the daughter of Matthew and Blanche (Rathburn) Wiltgen. Alice was raised near Ossian, IA, and attended country school. In her younger years, Alice helped area families with their children and homes. She then went to work as a waitress, where she was a waitress for over 25 years at the Harmony House in Harmony, MN. It was there that she met her husband, Arthur Curtis Erickson and they were married on August 31, 1945, in Rochester, MN. Together they farmed near Grainger, MN and then moved into Harmony in 1960. In 1978, Alice married Joe Bockman and moved to Decorah, where she did Daycare for local families. Alice had a love for friends, music, dancing and spending time with family. Alice was a member of the Decorah Lutheran Church and volunteer and member of the Decorah Senior Citizens Center for the past several years.

Alice is survived by her four children: Nancy (Rod) Carolan, Ridgeway, IA; Mary Lee (Roger) Monroe, Castalia, IA; Wayne (Kathy) Erickson, Omro, WI; and Jim (Lori) Erickson, Olathe, KS. 13 Grandchildren: Laine (Jodi) Henning, Lynn (Karen) Henning, Sara (Sean) Malone, Michael Corlett, Wade (Liz) Monroe, Lori (Dan) Langreck, Tami Erickson, Jodi (Aaron) Deering, Travis Erickson, Curtis Erickson, Alex Erickson, Olivia Erickson and Dylan Erickson. 13 Great Grandchildren: Jordan Henning, Zachary Henning, Khloe Henning, Reese Monroe, Beckett Monroe, Jasper Monroe, August Monroe, Elizabeth Tieskoetter, Austin Tieskoetter, Collin Deering, Ashley Deering, Aiden Deering and Kaleb Deering. 3 Step Grandchildren: Nicole (Nick) Owings, Adam Carolan and Sean Carolan, 4 Step Great Grandchildren; Keiran Owings, Olivia Owings, Sara Carolan, Christian Carolan.

Alice, with previous husband Joe Bockman, also had 10 Step Children; Mary Jo (David) Sterling, Leon (Gloria) Bockman, Patty (Ralph) Steele, Jane (Leon) Bullerman, Steve Bockman, Tom (Theresa) Bockman, Sharon Bockman, Faye Bockman, Mark (Penny) Bockman and Mike (Dominick) Bockman. Each having extended families

Alice was preceded in death by her parents: Matthew and Blanche (Rathburn) Wiltgen and one sister; Mary Wiltgen.
