Alice Hansen, age 89,of Waverly, Iowa, died Saturday December 12, 2015. She was born at home near Ossian, Iowa on December 2, 1926, daughter of Harold and Agnes (Lommen) Hammersland. On June 11, 1950 she married the Rev. Erling Hansen at the Stavanger Lutheran Church near Ossian. He preceded her in death.

Alice and her husband served several Lutheran parishes, including the towns of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, Glen Flora, Wisconsin, Emmetsburg, Iowa and Waverly, Iowa. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waverly, Iowa.

She is survived by her two sons Paul Hansen and Stephen (Ann) Hansen; two daughters, Christine (Rick) Johnson and Margaret (Michael) Ficken; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clarice Larson, Norma Springer, and Agnes Marie (Franklin) Reyner; and a sister-in-law Gladys Hammersland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Harold Hammersland; two sisters, Sylvia Belschner and Ada Boyce and four brothers-in-law, Harold Larson, Delbert Belschner, Kenneth Springer, and Arden Boyce.

Celebration of Life services were held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with burial in the Harlington Cemetery,both in Waverly, Iowa.
