Scott Adam, age 47, of Calmar, IA, died on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the Calmar Lutheran Church, 200 East Street, Calmar, IA, with Rev. Phil Olson and Rev. Sue Klimstra presiding. Burial will be in the Calmar Lutheran Cemetery, Calmar, IA.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel, 202 South Washington Street, Calmar, IA, and also after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Wednesday morning.

Scott William Adam was born on May 8, 1968, in Waukon, Iowa. Scott was adopted and raised by David and Calleen (Hook) Adam. He was baptized on November 30, 1975 and confirmed on April 22, 1984, at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, in rural Postville, IA. While in High School, he was active in FFA and 4-H. He graduated from Postville High School in 1987. He married Angel Kornell in April 1994. They were the parents of Ashley and Colin. They later divorced. On June, 15, 2002, he was united in marriage to Bridget Pfiffner at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. They were blessed with Chance, Chase and Caylie.

Throughout his life he worked for Crossroads Dairy, Regancrest Dairy, Jeff Byrnes Dairy, Teddy’s Auto Sales in Waukon and Birdnow Chevrolet in Monona. Scott’s passion was selling cars. He was a ‘people person’ and enjoyed making people smile and laugh. He was a sports fan. His favorite teams were the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Cubs. He was a Tony Stewart fan. He enjoyed going to auctions and wrestling meets with his wife. He collected beer steins and hats. Above everything else, Scott loved his wife and his children. Scott was a caring, compassionate person that helped others. Even in this tragedy of losing his own life, he helped others by being an organ donor.

Scott is survived by his wife: Bridget Adam, Calmar, IA. Five children: Ashley and Colin, Beaufort, SC; Chance, Chase and Caylie all at home in Calmar, IA. His parents: David and Calleen Adam, Postville, IA. His father and mother-in-law: Jim and Jan Pfiffner, Harpers Ferry, IA. Scott’s grandparents: Calvin and Garneth Hook, Manchester, IA. Siblings: Duane (Beth) Adam, Waukon, IA; Pam Larson, Harpers Ferry, IA; Jeremy Larson, West Union, IA; and Rick (Dawn) Larson, New Hampton, IA. One nephew: Matthew Larson, Lansing, IA. One niece: Paige Johnson, Calmar, IA. One brother-in-law: Steve (fiancé Chelsey Meyer) Pfiffner, Onalaska, WI. Biological step-mother: Arlene Larson, West Union, IA, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his biological parents: Norman and Jane Larson. Grandson: Eli Adam. Grandparents: Willard and Mildred Adam.
