Doniphan, Mo. - Keith Harlan Amundson, 55, of Doniphan, Mo., fought a long and hard battle with multiple sclerosis, taking his last breath on July 20, 2015 at his home in Doniphan.
Keith was born in Decorah, Iowa on Sept. 27, 1959 to Harlan and Lorraine Amundson. He attended school in Ridgeway, Iowa and Cresco, Iowa and worked various jobs in the Cresco area, where he married and had three children, before moving to Texas then settling down in Doniphan. He later married Angel Amundson in 1988, gained two daughters and worked as a machinist.
He leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Angel Amundson. Also surviving are five children, Quentin Amundson of Cresco, Renee (Matt) Ames, of Wisconsin, Jolene (Sam) Balto of Wisconsin, Shayla Steward (Jaren Allison) of Missouri and Starla (Ian) Holl of Tennessee; one sister, Lynn (Carl) Walters of Mason City and one brother, Neal (Michelle) Amundson of Mason City. He was a wonderful uncle to Ryan, Nicholas, Morgan, Amanda (Ryan) and Melissa (Nick). He was greatly loved by 10 grandchildren, Jacob, Cameron, Haley, Sophia, Brandan, Kylie, Abby, Gunner, Penelope and Finn.
Keith fondly spoke about his memories of growing up on the farm in Iowa. Over the years, he loved to coon hunt, as well as target shoot, hang out at Jerry's Pawn Shop, play cards with friends, restore Hit and Miss tractor engines with his dad and be surrounded by his family.
He loved his family deeply and ensured their well-being throughout his life and even into death. His memory will forever be cherished by family and friends. He is now pain-free in Heaven and "doin' a hundred."
A celebration of life was held at the First Baptist Church in Doniphan.
