OLE ELLIS DIES HERE AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Ole Ellis of this city passed away Friday night, Dec. 9, at his home after a four days' illness. The funeral was held yesterday at the Willis & Ness funeral home and at the First Lutheran church, Rev. T.A. Hoff officiating. Burial was in Big Canoe cemetery.
The deceased was born in Wisconsin Nov. 24, 1852, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stener Ellis. He came to Winneshiek county with his parents when he was three years old. On May 31, 1876, he married Julia Hagen and they resided on a farm in Pleasant township until about sixteen years ago when they moved to Decorah. They were the parents of six children, namely, Elvin of Decorah, Clara (Mrs. Harry Erickson) of Decorah route 7, Julia (Mrs. Bloomfield)of Decorah, Tilla (Mrs. Olai Valle) of Watertown, S.D., Ida (Mrs. Oscar Kjenstad) of Brandt, S.D., and Sam, Eau Claire, Wis. He is survived by his children and a brother, Elf, in Romano, Calif. Mrs. Ellis preceded him in death June 12, 1931.
