Funeral services for Elvin C. Ellis, Decorah carpenter and salesman, will be held this Wednesday afternoon, May 1, at 1:30 o'clock in the Winneshiek Burial association funeral home and at 2 o'clock in the Decorah Lutheran church. Rev. M.A. Egge will officiate and burial will be made at the Decorah Lutheran cemetery.
Mr. Ellis passed away Sunday morning, April 28, at Oakdale, Ia. He had been in ill health since August, 1945.
Pallbearers will be Fred Iverson, Theodore Iverson, Narve Narveson, Earl Miller and Arthur Ellingson.
Mr. Ellis was born July 18, 1893, in Pleasant township, the son of Ole and Julia Ellis. He was married Nov. 5 1919, at Decorah to Clara Blaess, who survives with one daughter, Evelyn, Mrs. John McLaughlin, secretary to chief of army air forces, Washington, D.C. Mr. and Mrs McLaughlin will attend the funeral services. The deceased was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Decorah Lutheran church.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Tilla Valle, Aberdeen, S.D., Mrs. Oscar Kjenstad, Long Beach, Cal., Mrs. Julia Bloomfield and Mrs. Clara Erickson, both of Decorah.
