DIED.

HOWARD--In Orleans, Winnesheik{sp} county, Iowa, Monday, Sept. 18th 1893, John Howard, aged about 52 years.

Few better men than John Howard ever lived in this world. He was a true citizen, a good neighbor, a pure husband, a noble and magnanimous parent. For more than twenty years we had known him intimately. His sickness was of short duration. He had been a soldier during the war and having received a gun shot wound in head, was put on the pension rolls some years since. A widow and three children, with the entire community, mourn his untimely death. His funeral was largely attended on Wednesday from the Catholic church, over eighty carriages containing friends and relatives followed his remains to their final rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Universally loved and respected he is as universally mourned.
