Norma was born on November 20, 1922 to Jose and Estrella (Tapacio) Corpus at their home in Manila, Philippines. On May 16, 1945 she married Junior L. Oren from Jesup, IA, who was stationed in Manila. In 1947 they came to the United States. They were blessed to have three children: Mary Lou, Shirley and Glenn.

They resided in many different locations: Seward, NE, Jesup, La Porte City and Waterloo, IA. During her life Norma worked at Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo, in the billing department from 1956 until it closed in 1985. She was active in the Organ Club, Sweet Adelines, the Kit and Kaboodle band, PWP and the America-Filipino Association. She loved her family and friends and the many evenings they sat around with her playing the piano or organ, singing and dancing or playing cards.

Norma was proud to become an American Citizen on June 14, 1951. She could never understand why people didn’t use their right to vote. Her religion and faith were a strong part of her life. She took an active part in whatever church she was attending. She loved Bible studies, singing in the choir, and playing the organ.

In 1995 Norma married Duane Lund in Nashua, IA. Norma and Duane moved to Decorah in 2001 to be closer to family. She was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Junior Oren on May 2, 1987; her second husband Duane Lund on July 8, 2010; her son Glenn Oren on December 18, 2012; son-in-law William Lucas on August 15, 2004; three brothers: Illuminado, Osiris, Precioso; and two sisters Gloria and Elise; and one sister- in-law Doris Weltz.

Norma is survived by her two daughters: Mary Lou (Mike) Cotton of Decorah and Shirley Lucas of Cincinnati, OH; daughter-in-law Shelley Oren of Boone, IA; grandchildren: Michael (Sonja) Cotton, Charles City, IA, Penny (Mark) Bockman, Decorah, Nicol (Josh) Bjork, Decorah, Julie (Brad) Bloom, Ottertail, MN, Justin Lucas, Cincinnati, OH, Ryan (Sarah) Lucas, Cincinnati, OH, Devon Lucas, Cincinnati, OH and his special friend Natalie, Natasha Oren and her fiancé Steven Greene, Ankeny, IA, Joshua Oren, Ames, IA and Jacob Oren, Ames, IA; great-grandchildren: Sam Zoulek and his special friend Nicole, Kayla Zoulek, Kelsey Einck and her special friend Kyle, Mija, Joslyn and Kaleb Cotton, Joseph and Matthew Bockman, Elizabeth and Andrew Bjork, William Lucas and Blake Bloom; one great-great grandson, Carter Zoulek; one sister, Diana Gonzlales, Philippines; one brother, Philippines; one brother-in-law, Phil (Nancy) Oren of Prescott, AZ; and one sister-in-law, Nancy (Gordon) Garrett of Little Rock, AR.

Norma will be deeply missed. She was the most endearing person in our world, but we know with the grace of God that she is with the Lord and is whole again.
