CHRISTINA PETERSON OF RIDGEWAY PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Christina Peterson of Ridgeway passed away Sunday, February 26, 1928 at the Independence state hospital, where she had been a patient the past five years. She was born in Denmark January 30, 1848, making her 80 years old at the time of her death. Her remains arrived in Decorah Monday night and the funeral is being held this Wednesday afternoon, February 29th, in the Methodist church at Ridgeway.

Note: Burial took place February 29th, 1928 at Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway, Lincoln Twp, Winnishiek Co, Iowa.

Ridgeway, Ia., March 2 - Special: The remains of Mrs. Christina Peterson, who passed away Monday at the Hospital in Independence, were brought to Ridgeway Wednesday for burial.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the M. E. Church, Rev. J. L. Menzner officiating.

The deceased was born January 30th, 1848, in Valer, Denmark. In 1868 she was united in marriage with George Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson came to this country in 1872, locating at Chicago, where they lived for three years, later moving to Ridgeway. Mrs. Peterson is survived by six children, 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The husband preceded her in death nine years ago. The children are: Mrs. Anna Albertson, of Ridgeway; Peter Peterson, of Sioux Falls, SD; Dollie Berndt, Mankato, Minn.; Arthur Peterson, Sioux Falls, SD; Solie Iden, WA; and Henry Peterson, Sioux Falls, SD.

Burial at Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway, Lincoln Twp, Winnishiek Co, Iowa.
Note: Would appear 'George' is a nick-name for Svend.
