Irving Leslie Crawford
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Frankville Church for Irving Crawford, who passed away suddenly Wednesday, February 22. The Rev. Walter T. Martin of Postville officiated with Rev. Reynolds of Frankville assisting.
Irving Leslie Crawford, son of Thomas J. and Helen Cavin Crawford, was born August 4, 1893 at Frankville. He departed this life February 22, 1961, at the age of 67.
He was baptized September 6, 1908 and received into the Frankville Presbyterian church on affirmation of faith by the Rev. A. J. Gregg.
He attended the Frankville School and Valders Business college at Decorah.
He was married to Alma Leer on May 9, 1917 at Waukon. To this union one son, Leonard C., was born.
Irving Crawford was actively engaged in farming throughout his life time. He was always interested and took an active part in the worth while activities of his community.
He served many years as a trustee of the Frankville Presbyterian Church as well as in many other positions of trust in the community.
He was a member of Great Lights Lodge 181 A. F. & A. M., Decorah. He was Past Master of Brotherly Love Lodge A. F. & A. M., Frankville.
Irving L. Crawford is survived by his wife, Alma; his son, Leonard C.; one grandson, Darrel Crawford of Frankville; and one brother, Charles C. Crawford of Norfolk, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Stella, and a brother [here the clipping is crumbled so badly it is unreadable.]
