MRS. BEN NOLTE, 47, PASSES ON AT CRESCO

Hold Funeral Services At Church in Burr Oak

Mrs. Benjamin Nolte, 47, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Warren Harvey, at Cresco on December 27, 1943 after an illness of three years, and funeral services were held in Burr Oak Lutheran church last Wednesday, preceded by short services in a funeral home in Decorah. The Rev. Thompson, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in the Burr Oak cemetery.

Mrs. Nolte was born as Bertha Olena Evans in Franklin township, December 6, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Evans. Her parents passed away when she was a small child and at the age of 11 years she went to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Simon Nolte in Ludlow.

On October 13, 1913, she was married to Benjamin Nolte and to this union five children were born, two passing away in infancy. The three children who with their father survive are Inez (Mrs. Warren Harvey) of Cresco; Joyce (Mrs. Kenneth Campbell) of Burlington; Keith Nolte of Decorah. Also surviving are five brothers, Joe Evans of Postville; Einer of Murphy, Ore., William of Rhame, No. Dak., Carl of Monona, and Albert of Waukon; also one sister, Mrs. Henry Knowles of Battle Creek, Mich., and an aunt, Mrs. Mathilda Berg of route 2, Postville.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Burr Oak where the family lived for many years.
