Funeral services for Dorothy Schopp, 86, were held Dec. 31, 1985 at Schmitz Funeral Home in Ossian with burial in Greenwood (Centennial) Cemetery near Ossian. The service was conducted by Verdon Swenson, pastor.

Dorothy Marian Schopp, daughter of Roy and Edith (Burroughs) Dean, was born Feb 12, 1898 at Ossian. She died Dec. 28, 1985 at the Aase Haugen Home, Decorah where she had resided since 1974.

She attended schools in Alberta, Canada and received a nursing degree in Portland, OR. Dec. 27, 1926 she married Charles B. Schopp and they lived in the Castalia area. In the later years they operated a mink ranch. She returned to Canada in 1955 and lived there several years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Castalia.

Preceding her in death was her husband in 1951.

She is survived by a stepson, Melbert Schopp, Castalia and two cousins, Robert H. Harvey, Castalia and Mrs. Barry (Janet) Bell, Deer River, MN.

Pallbearers were Miles Ames, Robert Brandt, Clair Cornell, Leslie Mundt, Vernon Kamp and Harlan Stee.
