Decorah, Iowa.- A 101-year-old resident of Decorah, Mrs. Bertha Ulen, died Saturday at her home here. She came here 80 years ago. Funeral services were held today at the Decorah Lutheran church.

Born in Vestre-Slidre, Norway, November 24, 1849, the former Bertha Kval_ came to America when 15 years old. She made the trip to Milwaukee by the St. Lawrence and Great Lakes route and lived at Milwaukee and Madison before coming to Choice, Minn., in 18__ (Looks like 68.) and to Decorah in 1871.

After her marriage to Rier K. Ulen, she lived at Peterson, Minn., several years before moving back here in 1925.

Surviving are two sons, Peter and Ed, Decorah; one daughter, Mrs. P. O. Leseth, Charles City, and one sister, Mrs. Andr_y Hoverson, Manfred, N.D.
