Decorah- Funeral services for Peter Solem, 59, Canoe township farmer, were conducted Sunday, July 30, by the Rev. W. T. Hexom, at the Big Canoe Lutheran Church at Highlandville, burial was made in the church cemetery.

Solem died July 27, at a Spring Grove, Minn., hospital.

Born Nov. 4, 1890, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Solem, he lived all his life in Winneshiek county. On May 26, 1913, he married Marie Harvey, who survives.

His surviving children are Mrs. Carl Oyloe, Decorah; Mrs. Marlys Hedseth, Spring Grove, Minn.; Byron Solem, Winthrop, Ia.; George Solem, Cedar Rapids; and Roger, operating the home farm. Two sisters and three brothers also survive, Mrs. Ed Anderson, Mrs. George Bolstad, Melvin and Martin Solem, all of Decorah, and Ole Solem, Spring Grove.
