Mrs. Philias (Mary Ann Miller) Brouillet

Mary Ann Miller, daughter of Oscar and Lydia Ann Miller was born May 10, 1868, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Harvey in Decorah, November 1, 1957, at the age of 89 years.

On June 15, 1886, Anna Miller was united in marriage to Philias Brouillet and to this union eight children were born: Fred of Frankville, Charles of Rossville, Mrs. Harry (Evelyn) Harvey of Decorah, Mrs. Norman (Bernice) Vick, and Mrs. Roy (Ruby) Gremm, all of Decorah.

Preceding her in death were her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Sam (Edna) Hosely, and Mary, and a son, Morgan.

Left to mourn her loss are her five children, six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brouillet made her home in Frankville until twelve years ago when she went to make her home with her daughter, Evelyn in Decorah, where she lived until the time of her death. Mrs. Bouillet united with the Frankville Presbyterian Church in 1916 and continued her membership there the remainder of her life. That she felt keenly the responsibilities of her church was manifested in the fact that she contributed her services in the performance of many duties in the church life, and gave willingly of her time and ability. For many years she served as Cradle Roll superintendent as an officer of the Willing Worker's group and as a teacher in the Sunday School for some time.

Rev. and Mrs. Fred Butler of Greene, former pastor of the church here, and close friends of the family were here to officiate at the services. Mrs. Roger Sampson and Mrs. Leonard Crawford sang two hymns, accompanied by Mrs. Leslie Laterman. Mrs. John Schutta, Mrs. Walter Van Wey, Mrs. Daisy Henderschott and Mrs. Alwin Walby had charge of the flowers.

Note: the newspaper spells the name Brouillet two ways. It is not my typing error.
