A. Vernon Brouillet
 
A. Vernon Brouillet, son of Charles and Hattie (Krogsund) Brouillet, was born in Frankville, Iowa on July 3, 1911. He died Monday, March 7, 1994 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minn. He was 82.

Vern graduated from Decorah High School. On July 26, 1936 he married Jeanne Moellerman of Decorah. They were the parents of four sons. They lived in Decorah until 1944, when they moved to Oelwein. In September of 1946 they opened the V & J Koffee Shop in Postville, and were in that business until 1966. In 1967 they moved to the Minneapolis area, and were living in Bloomington, Minn. at the time of his death.

He was a past president of the Postville Commercial Club, and a past member of the Decorah Elks, the Odd Fellows, and the Tri-City Golf Club. He was always interested in airplanes and model trains, and was an avid sports fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Ronald. He is survived by his wife Jeanne of Bloomington; three sons, Robert and his wife Jean of Bloomington, Philip and his wife Marsha of Minneapolis, and Richard of Bloomington; and two grandchildren, Jill Brouillet of Minneapolis and Billy Brouillet of Bloomington.

A private, family service was held Wednesday, March 9, 1994 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, and a memorial service will be held in Decorah later this spring.
